Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has just advised of a new free service to block spam SMS on your Thai mobile phone.

The solution is simple.  You just dial *137 and call out.  You can repeat this call again if needed.

The *137 anti spam number apparently works on all networks with the exception of TOT3G.  If you are using that service there is also a free solution.  You must type your name, then a space, then the letter “b” then 137 and call out.

If you experience difficulties using these anti spam solutions you can make a free call to 1200 and then press 1 for assistance.
