MSW was 100% wrong today. zero swell flat as a mirror. Some rain has just arrived in the afternoon so maybe we will get some swell in the next few days. Did you get any waves down there?
7 January, 2017 at 11:43 am #32Hi Surfsalot
This morning Lee reported 1-2″ swell at our spot but not consistent. Strong wind. Good sign because before this it is flat.
Tomorrow morning I’ll go to the beach. Hope the wind will go away.
9 January, 2017 at 12:53 am #33Hi Surfsalot
Yesterday was epic. Windytv predicted well. I spend 4 hours non stop surfing till I burned my leg, arm & back muscle. I planned to continue back on evening but have to cancel it due to back pain.
Non stop 2-3 feet swell. Cloudy & light NE wind but the condition still clean. 1 spot with long right wall. 2 spots that jack up to 1.5 meter but did not have any wall to ride. 25 videos recorded. I will share in Surfing in Malaysia once complete editing.
9 January, 2017 at 2:38 am #34Yes. Windytv is a very good tool for predicting swell and other weather related events. It is also cool to use. That is why we have included it in the links tab for Thai Shares.

Fantastic news. Can’t wait to see your videos. Still no swell arrived here, but I hope it will. Rain has stopped today and the sun is out so good conditions. Did Lee and Nik get some waves with you?

Just check the surf again. About half meter of slop. Onshore wind. Still hoping that the big swell will arrive.

Don’t forget to use Lee singing as the background track for your videos… 🙂
10 January, 2017 at 1:27 am #38Hi Surfsalot
Nik no longer live here in Penang. He’s back to his hometown Kelantan & started a clothing business there. And for Lee, he is working.
Now I’m waiting for Lee to send me a copy of his singing record.

10 January, 2017 at 8:44 am #42I have just checked windy TV. Looks like we are not going get any of the swell. Tomorrow will be flat.
10 January, 2017 at 12:00 pm #43How can it be. Khaolak closer to the storm compare to Penang. Everything can happen when dealing with Mother Nature. Pray harder man.
I have all copy of Thailand Surfrider magazine. Get it for free from Badfish surfshop in Phuket. They are no longer in business because last time we went there the shop already became a pub. Anyway thanks for the info.
P/s : we discover Khaolak from this magazine
18 January, 2017 at 1:37 am #44Hey guys
Just get back from a surf trip to Sakom, Thailand last weekend. No swell during my visit. But it still worth to enjoy its beautiful beach. Check out.
18 January, 2017 at 4:43 pm #45Cool shots. Thanks for posting. I have never been down to that part of Thailand. Might have to plan a trip. 🙂
Are there any good seafood restaurants there?
